Therapists provide a supportive and nonjudgmental setting for an individual working through challenges of life. Therapists provide guidance, advice, and insight, as well as, teach positive coping skills to manage one's life.
Therapy provides insight and self-awareness. Insight and self-awareness are the first steps towards growth and positive change.
Generally, Cynthia uses a problem-solving approach - "Lets see what can be done to change whatever problem brought you to seek therapy." Sessions and strategies are personalized for each client. Therapy is interactive. Cynthia is NOT a "how does that make you feel therapist." Sessions last about 50 minutes and are scheduled according to client availability.
Medication can be of enormous benefit under certain conditions and is complementary to therapy. However, medication alone does not develop an individual's ability to learn and effectively use positive coping skills.
Insurance is accepted. Please contact your insurance carrier for information regarding coverage, copays, etc.
